Promotion at Strayer!

Hi there! I’m just popping in to announce that I’ve just gotten a promotion at Strayer University! My new title is Instructional Innovation and Curriculum Designer (IICD). I’ll be working closely with faculty and Deans of Curriculum to design programs, primarily for the Undergraduate School of Business. My new role¬†includes:

  • Designing online and on-ground courses by working with subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Selecting instructional materials, including textbooks and publisher labs
  • Creating and implementing course content within the BlackBoard LMS system
  • Analyzing data to determine university trends that may affect courses
  • Writing or revising course learning outcomes
  • Developing visual and interactive components for lectures and course user interfaces
  • Writing course guides for faculty and students
  • Selecting relevant instructional strategies for courses

I’m very excited about this new opportunity. The IICD role will allow me to conduct thorough analysis of each course and program, and take a deep dive into the School of Business. I guess I’ll be brushing up on my business skills now!

I’ll leave you with this quote from Dr. Plater, President of Strayer University:

“Success is less about status and more about what makes you happy. Owning your personalized definition of success allows you to focus on your personal goals and well-being, rather than trying to live up to a preconceived definition that society has formed.”
