DevLearn 2015

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend DevLearn 2015 this year with my boss, Rich Pinsk. It was a great time! I caught up with a lot of old colleagues, and met a bunch of great new people. It was exhausting but inspiring at the same time.

Here are some key takeaways from the conference:

  • Social “Community” Learning – we need to formalize the informal
  • MOOCs are having a comeback
  • Emerging technology includes analytics, 3D modeling, and interactivity
  • Augmented Reality is becoming widely used in the field, especially in medicine
  • Interactive .pdf
  • Data analysis and mobile is huge, but you need to know what to do with it all
  • Competency-based learning
  • Video, especially informal video usage and short segmented pieces

I put together a slide deck on what I learned. You can access it here: DevLearn 2015
